Based in Iran. Ali has been a senior legal associate with Cenesta since 2010. He has a M.A. degree at international law and has written extensively about food sovereignty, farmers rights, indigenous peoples rights and biosafety. As project manager and legal advisor for Cenesta, he worked on re-empowering Iran’s indigenous nomadic tribes, democratizing agricultural systems and strengthening indigenous peoples’ and local community resilience to climate change. Ali has been a member of numerous committees related to indigenous peoples and local communities and natural resource rights.
