Key policy outcomes: EMRIP study and Expert Mechanism Advice No. 8 on: “Promotion and protection of the rights of indigenous peoples with respect to their cultural heritage”
Contribution to overall strategy: Inputs to online consultations and mainstream media engagement contributed to objectives of: (1) promoting ICCAs as non-financial means of financing and implementation of post-2015 development agenda; (2) promoting ICCAs as culturally rooted examples of sustainable production and consumption; and (3) promoting recognition and active participation of indigenous peoples and local communities as key to achieving the SDGs, under the draft strategy on “ICCAs & Sustainable Development Policy”
