          In October 2018, the IUCN Global Protected Areas programme together with IUCN South American Regional Office and the ICCA Consortium, convened in Pachacamac (Peru) for a workshop entitled “Strengthening the governance of conserved territories in the Peruvian Amazon”. Read more ▸

            Resources & Multimedia

            The term ‘inclusive conservation’ has recently been adopted by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) in its 2018-2020 programme for biodiversity financing. In this context, the ICCA Consortium proposes a definition of ‘inclusive conservation’ and specific recommendations for legislators, policy makers and other conservation actors willing to pursue it. Read more ▸
              The lives of women farmers in rural Kalimantan who daily and quietly labor in their communities to safeguard local agricultural systems and food security are the subject of a book written collectively with women farmers and local seed keepers from Kalimantan, Indonesia. Read more ▸
                Statutory recognition of rural communities as collective owners of their lands is substantial, expanding, and an increasingly accepted element of property relations.
