Vivienne Solis Rivera

Council Member with special responsibility about ICCAs and gender issues (exceptional role until December 2019)

Based in Costa Rica. Vivienne is a biologist with extensive experience in interdisciplinary and inter-institutional initiatives for conservation of nature and the sustainable use of biodiversity. A founder of Coope SoliDar (a cooperative of people who appreciate differences and share strong values in solidarity), Vivienne delights in working with communities to support the sustainable use of wildlife and other natural resources, often via co-management and community governance. In the last several years, she has focused on community governance of fisheries in Central America. A long time member of IUCN CEESP, Vivienne is currently an Honorary Member of the ICCA Consortium.
