Soavinalahatra Nasolo Harijery

Regional representative for Madagascar and the Indian Ocean Islands

Soavinalahatra Nasolo Harijery is a Malagasy land tenure expert with over fifteen years of experience in land governance, territorial planning, and securing land rights. As the National Coordinator of the Solidarité des Intervenants sur le Foncier (SIF) and Madagascar’s country facilitator for the International Land Coalition (ILC), he has dedicated his career to advancing the recognition and protection of land rights for local communities and peoples who depend on their territories for their livelihoods.

Specializing in socio-land analysis and spatial planning, he has provided technical support to secure land rights in several Indigenous and Community Conserved Areas (ICCAs) in Madagascar, including the Sakatia ICCA in the north and the Andranobe ICCA in the Vakinankaratra region. His work focuses on land diagnostics, participatory mapping of territories, and analyzing customary rights to empower and assist communities.
