In July 2010, the ICCA Consortium was registered as a non-profit association under the Swiss Civil Code. The founding General Assembly approved the Statutes as the association’s highest governance document. The General Assembly has approved revisions to the Statutes as needed since then, as well as a number of other non-statutory policies and procedures.

The ICCA Consortium’s current Statutes (2021) were approved on 9 June 2021 at the 17th General Assembly.

The Governance Procedures (2023) were approved on 9 June 2021 at the 17th General Assembly and revised by the Council in March 2023.

The Membership Policy and Procedures (2021) were approved on 10 June 2021 at the 17th General Assembly.

The Gender Policy (2018) was approved on 13 November 2018 at the 13th General Assembly.

The Policy on Defending Territories of Life and their Defenders (2018) was approved on 13 November 2018 at the 13th General Assembly.

In addition, the Manifesto for territories of life was approved on 28 June 2023 at the 19th General Assembly. The 2024-2028 Strategic Plan was approved as a ‘working version’ by the Council on 12 October 2023 and is expected to be tabled for formal approval by the General Assembly in mid-2024.
