The ICCA Consortium invites submissions for an upcoming publication on the topic of funding and financing territories of life. This publication will bring together diverse perspectives, case studies, and insights to contribute to the global discourse on funding models and financing mechanisms that align with the values of territories of life of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities.
Submission Guidelines
1. Abstract Submission
- Types of contributions and language: Articles, case studies, interviews, or multimedia content. Submissions are accepted in English, Spanish, or French.
- Format: Provide a title and a summary of your proposed contribution, emphasizing its relevance to the theme of “funding and financing territories of life.” Include the author/s’ name/s, affiliation/s, and email/s. Please submit your abstract as a Word document.
- Length: Abstracts should be within 500 words.
- Contact: Send your submission to Mohammad Arju at arju.m@iccaconsortium.org and copy Hanieh Moghani at hanieh.m@iccaconsortium.org.
- Deadline: Abstracts must be submitted by July 25, 2025.
2. Full contribution submission
- Length and Format: Written contributions should be 4,000 words or less, including references, tables, and figures. Multimedia contributions should be no longer than 12 minutes in length.
- Deadline: An invitation to submit a full contribution will be sent by July 30, and the full contribution must be submitted by August 30, 2025.

- Systemic challenges in funding and financing territories of life

- Success stories demonstrating equitable funding and effective financing for conservation
- Regional differences in funding models and financing mechanisms
- The Role of Policy and Institutions
- Analysis of international, national, and local policies
- The role of financial institutions in supporting territories of life
- Innovations in Resource Mobilization
- Technological advancements and digital tools
- Crowdfunding, nature credits, and other emerging models
- Intersections with Traditional Knowledge and Practices
- Funding models and financing mechanisms that respect and incorporate Indigenous and traditional knowledge
- Impacts of funding interventions and financing mechanisms on territories of life
Evaluation Criteria and Process
Submissions will be evaluated based on:
- Relevance: Alignment with the volume’s theme and focus
- Originality: Novel insights, perspectives, or case studies
- Clarity: Clear articulation of ideas and arguments
- Methodology: Robust and transparent methodology, where applicable
- Impact: Potential contribution to the understanding and practice of funding and financing territories of life
The evaluation will be conducted through a collaborative peer-review approach; our advisors and other volunteer editors within our membership will work closely with the lead contributors to assess the submission based on the criteria mentioned above.
