[This call is now closed] Open call for volunteer translators and interpreters to support the ICCA Consortium

Communication across continents, languages, and cultures is part of our daily life in the ICCA Consortium.

We strive to continue improving our capacity to share stories, experiences, and information in inclusive and accessible ways with our membership and partners. To do that, we work with a growing group of volunteers to support translation and live interpretation.

If you want to be involved in something meaningful and if you have some time to dedicate to our diverse and colorful movement, we would be more than happy to welcome you into our growing team of volunteer translators and interpreters!

Languages

We are primarily looking for translators and live interpreters for the following language combinations:

• English < > French
• Spanish < > French
• English < > Spanish

We also welcome those who can translate between any of the following languages: Portuguese, Arabic, Russian and Chinese.

Translation

The texts we need to translate are diverse and maybe an article for our website, a short biography of a member of the Council or Secretariat, a policy brief, or internal documents such as meeting minutes. 

Live interpretation

Due to the current situation related to COVID-19, we are organizing various events (such as internal team meetings and meetings with our members) online, so we are also looking for volunteers interested in live interpretation.

If you are interested, we will discuss the scope of tasks with you. The decision to engage you will be based on your skills, availability, and knowledge of the ICCA Consortium and ICCAs. We will work closely with you in the process to ensure high-quality translation and interpretation.

In your expression of interest, please mention your mother tongue, the languages you speak and between which language(s) you can translate and/or interpret, your experience in translation and/or live interpretation, and your approximate availability per month.
