The Maliasili Initiative Newsletter

Two of the key themes that bring together all of Maliasili’s work are supporting a new generation of conservation leadership in Africa; and fostering new relationships, partnerships, and collaboration. Both of these goals were central to the inaugural African Conservation Leadership Forum, held in Tanzania in January, which Maliasili convened in collaboration with The Nature Conservancy.

The Forum brought together over 30 African conservationists constituting the African Conservation Leadership Network (ACLN), along with a select group of individuals from international organizations such as WWF, WildAid, Blue Ventures, African Leadership University, and the Smithsonian Institution.

The Forum created a unique opportunity for Maliasili partners and other organizations to come together to learn, explore collaborations, and build new connections. Read a summary of the Forum and watch videos about ACLN on our leadership programs overview page.
