First published on 10/09/2019, and last updated on 12/16/2023

The President and Executive Committee of the ICCA Consortium are delighted to announce the appointment of Holly Jonas (born Shrumm) as Consortium Global Coordinator as of January 2020.

Holly has been associated with the Consortium since its beginnings… she has been a Member representative, a friend and volunteer and, in recent years, our invaluable and most appreciated International Policy Coordinator. Holly knows the Consortium very well and cares deeply for its mission and Members. She has been active in nourishing partnerships for the Consortium and developing meaningful directions for our role in global policy arenas. Her generous contributions over the years are widely recognized, as are her sensitive approach, legendary editorial skills, strong work ethic and commitment to fight for the rights and territories of life of indigenous peoples and local communities.

Holly was unanimously selected through an open hiring process led by our Search Committee and its final recommendation met with the full support of the Executive Committee of Council.

She will take responsibility for the strategy, leadership and organisational development of the Consortium, as well as for the programme development and coordination of the Secretariat. All this will be as of January 2020, when Grazia Borrini-Feyerabend will conclude her time as Consortium responsible officer, but Holly and Grazia are already working together to ensure continuity and smooth the transition. The Executive Committee of Council is looking forward to working alongside Holly to take the Consortium to new heights!
